My Family Crest || Clan Fraser. 6 notches for the members of my family, 6 points on each antler combine to 12 representing the year. All divisible by 3, which is the number that controls my universe. Je Suis Prest means “I am Ready” in French. Artists name is Dean Denney of Anonymous Tattoo in Savannah, GA.
JE SUIS PREST DOES NOT MEAN I MEAN READY IT MEANS I AM *PREST IS NOT A WORD*.
You were probably aiming for “Je suis prêt”.
CONGRATS U LOOK SO DUM RITE NOWI don’t normally reblog stuff from FYT to comment, but this post has at least 16 comments awaiting approval and countless reblogs, just like that one^, by people so eager to prove their intellectual superiority, they’ll ruin someone’s excitement about a permanent addition to their body.
And that might be tolerable or at least expected, if not for for this, which is one of my biggest pet peeves: all of the people “correcting” this person and calling them dumb are wrong.
The Clan Fraser crest does actually say “Je suis prest,” and that’s not because someone in the Fraser clan was dumb; it’s because, when Clan Fraser was founded, the French word for “ready” was “prest.” It’s an Old French word clearly derived from the same Latin word that the modern “prêt” comes from.
And this is not just an obscure historical/linguistic fact I’ve collected. It’s Google-able!
